BOOK II — DIANETICS II: THE SELF AS A SYSTEM
Identity, embodiment, and dimensional awareness
Book Two expands the psychological model into a developmental and embodied one.
It introduces the 2D–3D–4D model of human consciousness:
2D: childlike binary thinking (safe/danger, right/wrong) 3D: action-oriented, goal-driven consciousness 4D: self-aware, relational, multi-perspectival consciousness
The book explores:
Gendered development Puberty as a dimensional fracture Women’s layered self-awareness Men’s outward trajectory and later inward reckoning
Sexuality, identity, and power are treated as developmental forces, not moral failures.
The goal is integration: the ability to move fluidly between dimensions without being trapped in one.
Book II answers:
Who am I becoming, and how does consciousness mature in the body?
